Integrating your Ohme account with the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff will ensure you get super cheap electricity for any Smart Charging.
There are two ways to integrate with the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff, with your car or with your charger. For everyone with an Ohme charger we would recommend integrating with your charger via your Ohme account. If you would prefer to integrate with your car, your Ohme account will need to be unlinked from the charger to ensure Ohme doesn’t interrupt the charge. This can be done either by deleting your Ohme account or by submitting a request to the Ohme Team for the account to be unlinked.

To start the process of integrating your Ohme account with the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff, open the Octopus Energy app and tap the Get started button on the Home tab.
When you’re asked which device you would like to integrate with, we recommend everyone with an Ohme charger selects Chargers to integrate with their Ohme app account.
If you have a compatible EV and you would like to integrate with your car directly, you’ll need to request for your Ohme account to be deleted to allow the Octopus Energy app to control when the car charges.
Next, you’ll need to work your way down the list and add the following information:
After you have started the tariff switch tap Connect device to log into your Ohme account.
To connect with your Ohme account you’ll need to log into the portal shown using the email address and password you use to log into the Ohme app.
If you created your Ohme account using an existing Google, Facebook or Apple ID, use the corresponding button below to log in.
Once you’re logged in you will need to Confirm Authentication to allow the connection to Octopus Energy.
Once you’ve hit confirm, you’ll be taken back to the Octopus Energy app. The final step is to test the connection by pressing ‘Test connection’.
Tap the pink ‘Test connection’ button to start the test. Note, there is no need to plug your EV in to test the connection.
Once you’ve completed the integration, you’ll see a new tab appear in the Octopus Energy app called Devices. If you’ve integrated with your Ohme account, you’ll see this page has a button to open the Ohme app to control and schedule charging.
When you open the Ohme app, you’ll notice the tariff has been updated to Intelligent Octopus Go automatically. Ohme and Octopus advise the price cap should be switched off, as all smart charging will be billed at the off-peak rate.
With the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff integrated with Ohme, you can enjoy off-peak rates for all smart charging. Simply set an overnight ‘charge schedule’ in the Ohme app (navigate to ‘My Charger’) and specify a ‘departure time’ for the next morning. This will activate smart charging, ensuring all charging sessions, regardless of whether they occur between 11:30pm and 5:30am or outside these hours, are billed at the off-peak rate.
In order to get the most out of the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff, you’ll need to have an active Charge Schedule with the departure time set for the following morning.
Please note: Octopus Energy recommends plugging in after 5pm and setting your departure time any time between 4am and 11am. Before you plug in, check the Ohme charger is showing as online on the My Charger page of the Ohme app
A few moments after you have plugged in, you’ll see the Ohme app Dashboard turn blue with Smart Charging at the top of the screen and the name of your schedule underneath. This confirms all of the charge Ohme has scheduled will be billed at the off-peak rate.
If you see a red screen on the Dashboard of the Ohme app with ‘the words ‘Max Charging’ and ‘Charge to Full ASAP’ at the top, this indicates a Max Charge is in progress. This is referred to by Octopus Energy as a ‘bump charge’.
If it seems the Ohme app has not registered the plug-in and the Dashboard continues to show ‘Not plugged in’, this might mean your charger is offline. To find out how to get your charger back online visit the following article: My charger is offline
A Max Charge or an offline charge will mean the electricity added is billed at the peak rate. This excludes any charge added between 11:30pm and 05:30am which will be billed at the off-peak rate.
Plugging in and starting a new session will trigger a notification that shows when Ohme is scheduled to charge.
Hold your finger on the notification to ‘peek’ and read the notification in full, including all times Ohme has scheduled to charge.
Once the notification has been seen it will disappear. To see the notification again unplug for 10 seconds and plug in again. This will start a new session and trigger a new notification.
If the charger is left plugged in more than three hours after the finish time of the current session, Ohme’s ‘Multi-day charging’ feature will automatically start a new session and will carry over all settings. A new notification will be triggered at this time for you to see when Ohme is scheduled to charge.

The times will be displayed in your device’s notifications.
Once the notification has been seen it will disappear. To see the notification again unplug for 10 seconds and plug in again. This will start a new session and trigger a new notification.
Once you’ve integrated your Ohme account with the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff, you’ll find you can no longer change or update your tariff in the Ohme app.
If you’ve left the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff and wish to change or update your tariff, you’ll first need to disconnect the Ohme integration. This can be done in the settings of the Octopus Energy app.
After you’ve been disconnected, you’ll be able to change and update your tariff in the Ohme app.
Open the Octopus Energy app and tap on the Account & Settings button in the top left of the Home tab.
On the Account & Settings page tap the Devices option.
On the Devices page you’ll see all of the devices you’re currently integrated with, tap Intelligent Octopus Go.
Finally, tap Disconnect device to disconnect the integration of your Ohme account and the Intelligent Octopus Go tariff.
Once you’ve disconnected you’ll be able to update the tariff in the Ohme app.
If you’ve disconnected due to an issue and wish to complete the integration set up again, head back to the Home tab in the Octopus Energy app, find the Intelligent Octopus Go section and tap ‘Get Started’.
Once you’ve finished the Intelligent Octopus Go integration, a new ‘Devices’ tab will appear at the bottom of the Octopus Energy app. The information displayed on this tab will indicate the device with which you’ve chosen to integrate.
Upon completing the integration with your EV, you’ll see the following information on the devices tab.
Should you wish to switch and integrate with the Ohme charger instead, follow the disconnection steps provided earlier. When re-initiating the integration process, ensure to select ‘chargers’.
If you prefer to maintain the integration with your EV, it’s recommended to delete your Ohme account. This will prevent any schedule conflicts between Ohme and Octopus. To find out how to delete your Ohme account visit the following article: How to delete my Ohme app account
Upon completing the integration with your EV, you’ll see the following information on the devices tab. Tap the button to open the Ohme app to control and monitor charging.
