How to charge to full as soon as possible ('Max Charge')
If you would like Ohme to start charging immediately upon plugin until the vehicle stops the charge (e.g. the battery is full) or until the charger is unplugged, there are three main options available to achieve this:
Option 1: Keep Dynamic Charging turned off.
In the Ohme app, on the Charging page, if you turn off the ‘Dynamic charging’ setting, the charger will schedule to charge the vehicle to 100% battery to be ready as soon as possible.
It’s important to note that Ohme will still follow other charging restrictions, such as the Price Cap or Regulated Charging Hours. To charge more immediately, we advise turning these settings off as well via the Charging page in the app.
Option 2: Turn on Max Charge.
Once you have plugged in, you will see the option to turn on ‘Max Charge’ – this setting is a ‘boost’ charge that will override any other restrictions in the app and charge the vehicle to full to be ready as soon as possible.
Upon plugging out, the Max Charge will end and Ohme will revert to its last saved settings.
Option 3: Disconnect the charger from its Ohme account.
This will return the charger to a default ‘Plug and Go’ mode, which will always schedule to charge the vehicle to full as soon as possible.
This will also remove access to the charger security settings, break any smart tariff integrations, and the charging usage history. We therefore recommend the above two options as more suitable alternatives.
