[legacy] How do I choose the right schedule for my car?

To ensure you get the most out of Ohme, it’s important to choose the correct type of schedule for your car. When setting up a schedule, there are two different ways to set the amount of charge you’d like to add to your car.

Setting an amount to ‘add’ charge to your car.

Added range

If you have a car with which we’re not yet integrated (or you haven’t downloaded your car brand’s app), you’ll need to create a schedule that specifies the percentage of charge you would like to add to the current amount of charge displayed in your car. For example, if you normally return home with 30% charge left in your EV and you want to have 80% ready for the next morning, you’ll need to create a schedule to add 50% more charge (30% + 50% = 80%).

If you create a schedule asking Ohme to add charge over 100% (for example, you ask Ohme to add 50% but you’re already on 80%), you might receive an alert to tell you that your car isn’t charging as expected. This isn’t anything to worry about, but it’s our way of letting you know that we were expecting to deliver more charge.

Target range

Once you’re logged into your car app account, you’ll be able to set a Target in the charge schedule. Ohme will check in at regular intervals throughout the session to update the battery status and see whether the target has been reached.

Setting a ‘target’ for Ohme to reach

To set a ‘target’, you must first check that you’ve downloaded your car brand’s dedicated app and created an account, then log into your car app account when you choose your car in the Ohme app. Logging into your car app account will allow Ohme to retrieve the battery state of charge which allows for more precise charging. Ohme will check in with your car at regular intervals during the session to achieve the target.
