Should you experience one of the following symptoms, please follow the instructions below:

Ohme app notification charging slower than expected

Charging slower than expected

You receive the following pop-up notification in the Ohme app stating that the car is charging slower than expected. This means Ohme is aware charging is slower than the scheduled rate of charge.

Charge sessions page showing three completed sessions

Recent change to charge session stats

The Charge Sessions page in the Ohme App shows around half the usual amount of charge added during the same period. This would suggest Ohme is charging at half the usual speed.

Max Charge limited to ~3.5kW

When a Max Charge is enabled you can see the Ohme Home Pro power screen only shows ~3.5kW (14A-16A). A Max Charge would usually always charge at ~7kW, unless your car has a slower max charge rate.

How you can update your charger’s firmware

If you’re on version 2.62 please follow the steps below. If you’re on any other version and you’re experiencing the described issues, please follow the instructions to power cycle under point 2.

  1. Unplug your car
  • Firmware updates happen automatically but only when a car is not plugged in.
  1. Power cycle your charger

In order to check for a firmware update, please power cycle your charger. To powercycle any Ohme charger, you will need to:

  • Locate the circuit breaker that your charger has been connected to. This is usually located in your main consumer unit (also known as fuse box) or it may have been installed as a separate switch. Your installer will have likely labelled the switch, so look out for ‘EV charger’ or something similar.
  • Pull the switch down into the OFF position to turn the charger off and wait for two minutes. This will allow any residual power to drain away and the charger to power down completely.
  • Push the switch up into the ON position and the charger may take up to a minute to power back up.
  1. Check the Home Pro info screen or the Ohme app Advanced Settings page to see if your charger is no longer on firmware v2.62.
  • If, 30min after the reboot, your charger is still on v2.62 and you continue to experience issues, please request a firmware update here. It’s important to keep the car unplugged from the charger during this process.
