Ohme builds on EV charging success in Belgium with new charger range

Electric vehicle charging company Ohme is expanding its award-winning technology and range of home chargers to drivers in Belgium.

Building on Ohme’s existing success since it introduced the Go in 2020, Ohme is now adding the new Home Pro charger to its range to further help Belgian drivers and fleet managers with its smart charging capability.

The Home Pro follows Ohme’s already proven track record in Belgium as the mobile charger provider for Volvo and Eneco with the Go. The Ohme Go is the only affordable mobile charging solution with split billing solution and API capability that can communicate with a fleet manager’s back-end platform making it a particularly valuable asset for business fleets.

“Belgian drivers and fleet managers have already given Ohme a warm welcome with strong sales of the Go and we’re looking forward to building on that with the new Home Pro,” said Pieter Van der Auwermeulen from Ohme Belgium. “With both the Home Pro and Go on offer, Ohme will be the only charging company to offer both a wall charger and mobile solution in our portfolio at highly competitive prices.”

With electrified vehicles accounting for more than 40 per cent of new car sales in Belgium and fleet sales taking more than 70 per cent, Ohme’s unique combination of fixed and mobile home charging and its split billing solution makes it the ideal choice for Belgian electric vehicle drivers.

Ohme’s dynamic smart charging technology can connect with the national grid in real time and automatically adjust its charging for drivers to take advantage of all the times of low price charging with off-peak tariffs. Adding the CREG tariff as an option for driver choose from, fleet managers and drivers can be reassured that the correct reimbursement is carried out.

A full charge from 0% on a Volkswagen ID.3 with a 77kWh battery with an Ohme smart charger on an off-peak tariff, such as Frank Energie Variabel, could cost just €9.10*. Ohme also offers drivers the option to charge their car when renewable energy generation on the national grid is at its highest, further lowering their CO2 impact.

Ohme is the official charger provider for the Volkswagen Group and Polestar in both the UK and Ireland as well as Mercedes-Benz and Hyundai in the UK and Volvo Cars in Ireland. Ohme has also been named as Fast Track Company of the Year in the 2023 UK Green Business Awards as well as Best Electric Charging Point Provider by Business Motoring.
