Ohme dynamic smart charging technology for EVs now in Germany

Electric vehicle charging company Ohme is launching its award-winning technology and home chargers to drivers in Germany.

Building on Ohme’s success in the UK and Ireland, where it is the fastest-growing electric vehicle charging company, Ohme is introducing the Home Pro 11kW to enable German drivers to take advantage of its smart charging technology and dynamic tariff integration.

As sales of electric vehicles in Germany enjoyed a rise of 11.4% per cent in 2023, for those switching to an electric vehicle, as well as those looking to use smart charging technology, the Ohme Home Pro will certainly appeal with its combination of vehicle API integration, compatibility with all dynamic energy tariffs and integrated load management.

“We’re pleased to be able to introduce the Ohme Home Pro to drivers in Germany,” said Jan Reimers, Head of Sales DACH, Ohme Germany. “As one of the only EV chargers with built-in technology that can integrate with different energy providers, we can collaborate with energy suppliers to help balance supply and demand of electricity to help with grid congestion.

“We’re looking forward to bringing the same low cost and low CO2 flexible charging capability to electric vehicle drivers in Germany and further developing as the leading company for smart charging in Europe.”

Charging a Volkswagen ID. Buzz with a 77kWh battery on a full charge with an Ohme dynamic smart charger on an off-peak tariff for Hamburg, such as Octopus Go, could cost just €19.44*.

Ohme is the official charger provider for the Volkswagen Group and Polestar in both the UK and Ireland as well as Mercedes-Benz and Hyundai in the UK and Volvo Cars in Ireland. Ohme has also been named as Fast Track Company of the Year in the 2023 UK Green Business Awards and Best Chargepoint Manufacturer in the 2024 Irish EV Awards.
