Ohme dynamic smart charging technology for electric vehicles now in Italy

Award-winning EV charging company Ohme is launching its award-winning technology and home chargers to drivers in Italy.

Building on Ohme’s success in the UK and Ireland, where it is the fastest-growing electric vehicle charging company, Ohme is introducing the Home Pro to enable drivers in Italy to take advantage of its smart charging technology and dynamic tariff integration.

As sales of electric vehicles in Italy enjoyed a rise of more than 30 per cent in 2023, the Ohme Home Pro’s combination of car API integration, flexibility with all dynamic energy tariffs and built-in load balancing is sure to appeal to those moving to an electric vehicle for the first time.

“We’re pleased to be able to introduce the Ohme Home Pro charger to drivers in Italy,” said Umberto De Gaetano, Ohme Italy. “As one of the only EV chargers with built-in technology that can integrate with different energy providers, we can collaborate with energy suppliers to help balance supply and demand of electricity to help with grid congestion.

“We’re looking forward to bringing the same low cost and low CO2 flexible charging capability to electric vehicle drivers in the Italy at a highly competitive price.”

Ohme’s dynamic smart charging technology can connect with the national grid in real time and automatically adjust its charging for drivers to take advantage of all the times of low price charging with off-peak tariffs.

Charging a Fiat 500 Electric with a 42kWh battery on a full charge with an Ohme Home Pro dynamic smart charger on an off-peak tariff, such as Eni Plenitude Fixa Time Bioraria*, could cost just €4.60*.

Ohme is the official charger provider for the Volkswagen Group and Polestar in both the UK and Ireland as well as Mercedes-Benz and Hyundai in the UK and Volvo Cars in Ireland. Ohme has also been named as Fast Track Company of the Year in the 2023 UK Green Business Awards and Best Chargepoint Manufacturer in the 2024 Irish EV Awards.
