Driving an EV just got more affordable thanks to Fiat’s new E-Grant with the 500e.
Fiat has just announced that prices for the 500e will now start from £21,995 thanks to a recent price adjustment and the addition of a £3000 E-Grant meaning EV buyers go broke when going green.
Fiat is the first manufacturer to launch its own electric car grant as part of its attempt to ‘lead the charge to driving electric’. With the grant, prices for the 500e now start at £21,995.
“At Fiat, we believe in electric for all. We believe it’s crucial that we continue to work towards making electric vehicles more accessible and affordable for people across the UK,” said Damien Dally, Managing Director of Fiat UK. “Our effort to reduce prices means the Fiat 500e is now one of the most affordable electric vehicles you can drive today.”
The 500e is available as a hatchback and convertible with two battery sizes of 24kWh and 42kWh and a range of up to 199 miles. While the E-Grant was originally only for the 500e models, Fiat has now extended it to the larger 600e and sporty Abarth 500e too.
This latest reduction on the 500e is one of a number of more affordable EVs now coming onto the market including the MG4 and Dacia Spring – the latter being tagged as the UK’s most affordable EV – and the Citroen e-C3.
