CrowdFlex Winter Trial Terms and Conditions
CrowdFlex is a Strategic Innovation Fund (SIF) funded project led by National Grid ESO, that aims to understand how households like yours can be used to help balance the grid in the future. Learnings from this project will potentially help consumers reduce their future energy costs and the UK meet its 2035 net zero energy target.
Ohme (being Ohme Operations UK Limited, an English company with registered number 11933185 and office at 5th Floor, Wellington House, 125 – 130 Strand, London, England, WC2R 0AP) is a member of a specific trial under the broader CrowdFlex project exploring how electric vehicle charging might be adjusted in response to different simulated grid conditions over the 2024/2025 winter period (the “Winter Trial“).
- To progress the Winter Trial Ohme is seeking to engage its customer base and these are the terms that apply to participating Ohme customers (they are separate to and do not affect rights under the Ohme Mobile App Terms and our Website Terms for the supply of Products and Services).
- The Winter Trial will start at 00:01 on 15th September 2024 and end at 23:59 on 27th April 2025 and is only available to Ohme customers in Great Britain (excluding Northern Ireland). Participants may be removed from the Winter Trial at our discretion or automatically where they switch to the Intelligent Octopus Go Tariff, disconnect or no longer have responsibility for their EV charger or enrol in a CrowdFlex project with another provider. Participants may opt-out of the Winter Trial at any time by emailing [email protected].
- By participating in the Winter Trial you agree that Ohme may, until it ends or you opt out:
- create and modify EV charge schedule preferences in your Ohme app, and
- share certain anonymised data from your EV charger including half-hourly metered energy consumption, usage information and survey responses with other CrowdFlex members (being Ovo Energy, Centre for Net Zero, Element Energy, Amazon Web Services, National Grid Electricity Distribution, Scottish and Southern Electricity Networks, The Smith Institute and Centre for Sustainable Energy) for analysis, demand modelling, participant archetype segmentation and otherwise as required to further the objectives of the Winter Trial, and
- be automatically enrolled in the next trial in summer 2025.
- Participants in the Winter Trial will earn a reward when they plug-in their EV charger. Ohme will convert rewards accrued each month and convert it to credit on a gift card provided by Runa Network Limited (or similar third-party reward provider) which may be redeemed by participants at various retailers. To facilitate this Ohme will provide Runa (or such other reward provider) with name, email address and reward earned of qualifying participants.
- Ohme’s privacy policy applies to any personal data collected by Ohme in connection with the Winter Trial. Runa’s privacy policy is at https://runa.io/privacy (we will provide a link to the privacy policy of such other reward provider as relevant in an update to these terms).
- Ohme is not liable to reimburse participants for any expenses incurred in connection with the Winter Trial and they participate at their own cost.
- Ohme may cancel or amend these terms at any time without prior notice but any changes will be communicated to participants.
- These terms are governed by English law and the courts of England have exclusive jurisdiction in the event of any dispute.
