Terms for the Ohme ESB Networks “EV Flex” Trial
EV Flex is a limited proof of concept trial run by Ohme on behalf of ESB Networks. It is designed to encourage participants to engage with smart charging via their Ohme charger to avoid charging their electric vehicles during peak periods, alleviating network constraints and optimising network usage.
- Promoter. Ohme Operations Ireland Limited (“Ohme”), a company registered in Ireland under registered number 671451 having its registered office at Unit 74 Penrose Wharf, Penrose Quay, Cork, T23 HF51 is inviting you to participate in EV Flex.
- Eligibility. EV Flex is open to Ohme customers in the Republic of Ireland
- With an Ohme Electric Vehicle (“EV”) charger installed at their home,
- Who manage charging through the Ohme App with a charging target or active routine
- Who provide all information reasonably required for onboarding, operation, reward administration and evaluation of EV Flex
- Who continue to meet the eligibility criteria throughout the trial
Employees of Ohme or ESB Networks DAC, a company incorporated in Ireland (registration number 465172) (“ESB Networks”) and their immediate family members, or any other person professionally connected with EV Flex are not eligible to participate in EV Flex. Ohme may require participants to provide proof of their eligibility, and participants who do not meet these eligibility requirements, disconnect, or no longer have responsibility for their Ohme EV charger may be removed from EV Flex.
- Entry. Participation in EV Flex is free of charge but conditional upon you signing up to EV Flex, providing your MPRN and Eircode, and completing a successful plug in by connecting your electric vehicle for six continuous hours within a 24-hour period (a “Plug In”). The 24-hour period starts at 06:00 (D) and ends at 06:00 (D+1). Plug In sessions where the customer uses the “Max Charge” do not qualify for entry. Entries that do not comply with these Terms will not be accepted. Your participation in EV Flex is entirely voluntary and based upon your consent to these Terms.
- Opt Out. You may opt out of EV Flex at any time after signing up by either following the unsubscribe link in EV Flex comms or by emailing [email protected]. Once you have opted out of EV Flex, you will not be able to sign up to EV Flex again. If you withdraw consent for the processing or sharing of personal data that is necessary to operate EV Flex, this will be treated as withdrawal from EV Flex. Withdrawal will not affect processing already carried out before withdrawal, or processing that either Ohme or ESB Networks is required or permitted to continue under applicable law.
- Duration of EV Flex. EV Flex will start at 06:00 on 10th August 2026 and end at 05:59 on 7th February 2027.
- Rewards. If you are eligible and you participate in EV Flex, you can earn a reward for successful and qualifying Plug Ins of your Ohme EV charger. Ohme will convert rewards accrued each month and convert it to credit on a gift card (Runa Gift Card) provided by Runa Network Limited (Runa) which are redeemable for gift vouchers across over 50 retailers listed here. Runa Gift Cards containing a Runa Payout Link will be delivered via email to the email address provided by you during sign up. Runa Gift Cards will be sent out the month after the rewards are earnt. Runa Gift Cards are not redeemable for cash. Any additional costs or taxes associated with a gift card are the responsibility of the participant. Ohme may substitute Runa Gift Cards for other gift cards of greater or equal value. Use of any voucher, payout link, digital gift card, prepaid card, subscription credit or similar reward may be subject to separate terms and conditions of the relevant reward provider or merchant. Ohme and ESB Networks are not responsible for the availability, expiry, redemption rules, merchant restrictions, change of merchant offerings, or use of any third-party voucher or reward once issued, except where required by law.
- Reward Calculation. Ohme will calculate reward values as follows: (i) 0-2 Plug Ins per week = 0 reward, (ii) 3 Plug Ins per week = €1, (iii) 4 Plug Ins per week = €2, (iv) 5 Plug Ins or more per week = €3. If a Plug In isn’t recorded, for example due to example a charger connectivity issue, you should notify Ohme as soon as possible via email at [email protected] to resolve the issue so that rewards can be correctly calculated.
- EV Flex End. EV Flex will end on the 7th February 2027 and final reward amounts will be calculated, converted to gift cards and sent out by 28th February 2027. You will have until 31st May 2027 to claim any gift cards you have accrued. Any unclaimed gift cards after this date will be cancelled and you will be unable to claim them or access the Runa Payout Links within the unclaimed gift cards.
- Publicity. Ohme and ESB Networks reserve the right to publish reports, articles, publications, video content or other research-related projects that includes your anonymised comments and experiences shared in relation to EV Flex. Ohme and ESB Networks will not use this information in any way that can be damaging to you and we will not request, and you should not provide, any sensitive personal information.
- Changes, Suspension or Termination. Ohme and/or ESB Networks may change, suspend, restrict or end EV Flex, in whole or in part, where reasonably necessary for operational, technical, security, legal, regulatory, customer experience, network, funding, eligibility, data protection, or EV Flex trial integrity reasons. Where practicable, Ohme will provide notice of material changes that affect participants. Rewards will only be payable where they have been validly earned and verified in accordance with these Terms before the relevant change, suspension, withdrawal or termination takes effect.
- Liability. Ohme and ESB Networks will not be liable for any loss or expenses suffered (whether or not arising from any person’s negligence) in connection with EV Flex, except for such liability which cannot be excluded by law.
- Personal Data. Ohme will store and process the personal data we collect from you, including your name, email address, MPRN, and Eircode collected in the EV Flex in accordance with our privacy policy (https://ohme-ev.com/privacy-policy/).
Ohme will also use the information collected in EV Flex to enable us to provide you with your Runa Gift Card. Ohme will send a gift card provided by Runa Network Limited. To facilitate this Ohme will provide Runa (or such other reward provider) with your name, email address and the reward earned for qualifying participants. Runa’s privacy policy is at https://runa.io/privacy.
- How Your Data Will Be Used. By signing up to EV Flex, you acknowledge that Ohme and ESB Networks will use your personal data for the purposes of designing, operating, monitoring, supporting, rewarding and evaluating the EV Flex Trial. This includes using information about your EV, charger, MPRN, location, charging preferences, charging activity, plug-in activity, baseline consumption, smart charging activity, reward eligibility and related participation information. ESB Networks will use EV Flex data to assess network flexibility, map chargers to network assets, create dispatch groups and schedules, monitor EV Flex performance, and evaluate aggregated EV Flex outcomes. Ohme will use your personal data in according with our privacy policy, including to onboard participants, manage smart charging, administer rewards, provide participant communications and support, and report EV Flex performance.
- Data Retention. ESB Networks will retain EV Flex data for up to 24 months after participant sign-up for reporting, analysis, research, audit and evaluation purposes, after which it will be anonymised or otherwise handled in accordance with applicable data protection requirements. Ohme will retain personal data in accordance with its own applicable privacy notices, legal obligations and EV Flex-related requirements.
- EV Flex Operation. By participating in EV Flex you agree that Ohme may, until EV Flex ends or you opt out: (i) create and modify EV charge schedule preferences in your Ohme app and (ii) share certain anonymised data from your Ohme EV charger including half-hourly metered energy consumption, usage information, and survey responses with ESB Networks as required to further the objectives of EV Flex.
- Trial Communications
Ohme may send you emails, app notifications, service messages, reward updates, performance statements, survey requests and other operational communications relating to EV Flex. Some communications may refer to ESB Networks or use ESB Networks branding. EV Flex communications are separate from unrelated marketing communications, unless you have separately consented to receive marketing from Ohme or another party.
- Surveys and Research
During or after the Trial, Ohme may invite you to complete surveys or provide feedback about your reasons for joining, your experience, your charging behaviour, rewards, communications and the Trial generally. Survey responses may be shared with and analysed by ESB Networks for Trial research, evaluation and reporting purposes.
- Restrictions and Prohibitions. Participation in the Trial is governed by these Terms. By registering as a Participant, the Participant is deemed to have read, understood, and agreed to comply with, these Terms. The Participant agrees and undertakes not to use or exploit the Trial for any criminal, illegal, unlawful, subversive, offensive or like purpose. The Participant acknowledges that the Information and all intellectual property rights relating to the Trial are and shall remain the beneficial and legal property of Ohme & / Or ESB Networks. Information, any screenshots, or graphics, provided or made available by Ohme & / Or ESB Networks in connection with the Promotion may not be modified, reproduced, or publicly displayed, or distributed for any public or commercial purposes.

- Jurisdiction. These terms are governed by Irish law and the Irish courts have exclusive jurisdiction in the event of any dispute. Nothing in these terms affects your statutory rights under applicable Irish consumer rights law.
