Why should I download the Ohme app?
Downloading the Ohme app gives you full control of your charger. Start an instant charge or set a target and ready-by time for later – your choice! You can also set a price cap to ensure Ohme only charges at the cheapest times, to unlock savings on your energy bills.
Want to keep your charger secure? The app lets you require approval before charging, lock the front buttons to prevent changes, and turn off the indicator lights and screen to keep things discreet.
The app also provides a detailed history of each charging session and estimated costs based on your energy tariff. And with an Ohme account, you get quick access to support and all the important info about your charger. It’s all about making your EV charging experience simpler, smarter, and better.
Can I charge my car without the Ohme app?
Yes – without the Ohme app, your charger will simply not be linked to an account and will operate in ‘plug and charge’ mode. Meaning that when you plug in, Ohme will start charging your car instantly until it’s full or you unplug it. Ohme will also follow any settings configured in your car, such as charging schedules or battery caps.
Do I need the app to activate ‘smart charging’?
Yes, you do! Think of smart charging as your personal assistant for your EV. The Ohme app checks your account settings and electricity rates to help you save money. Want to charge only at the cheapest times? You can set a price cap. You get to choose how much charge you want and when your car needs to be ready. And if you’re in a hurry, just tap the ‘max charge’ button to start a full charge right away.
Can I sync it with my car app?
Absolutely! Our tech supports many car brands, allowing us to retrieve the right battery level from your car to make sure it is being charged correctly. To do so, it’s simple: after selecting your EV in the app, you’ll be prompted to log into your car app account if it’s a supported brand. Once logged in, you can set a ‘target’ for Ohme to reach.
