Ohme dynamic smart charging technology for EVs now in France

Electric vehicle charging company Ohme is launching its award-winning technology and home chargers to drivers in France.

Building on Ohme’s success in Ireland and the UK, where it is the fastest-growing electric vehicle charging company, Ohme is introducing the new ePod S to enable French drivers to take advantage of its smart charging technology and dynamic tariff integration.

As sales of electric vehicles in France enjoyed a rise of 49 per cent in 2023, the Ohme ePod S’s combination of car API integration, flexibility with all dynamic tariffs and built-in load balancing is sure to appeal to those moving to an electric vehicle for the first time.

“At Ohme we’re pleased to be able to introduce the ePod S to drivers in France,” said Cédric Marquant, Head of Mobility, Ohme France. “We’re looking forward to bringing the same low cost and low CO2 flexible charging capability to electric vehicle drivers in France at a highly competitive price.”

“We have a fantastic team in France with lots of experience in the charging, automotive and fleet sectors led by Cédric and myself,” said Alexis Chevalier, Business Development Director, Ohme France. “Our unique technology and software that has seen us enjoy rapid growth in the UK and Ireland and we’re looking forward to sharing that with charger installers in France.”

The ePod S has been developed by Ohme specifically for France and includes a T2S obturateur socket to meet all of the current regulations. Ohme’s dynamic smart charging technology can connect with the national grid in real time and automatically adjust its charging for drivers to take advantage of all the times of low price charging with off-peak tariffs.

Charging a Peugeot E-208 with a 51kWh battery on a full charge with an Ohme smart charger on an off-peak tariff, such as EDF’s Option Tempo Tarif Blue HC, could cost just €5.39*.

Ohme is the official charger provider for the Volkswagen Group and Polestar in both the UK and Ireland as well as Mercedes-Benz and Hyundai in the UK and Volvo Cars in Ireland. Ohme has also been named as Fast Track Company of the Year in the 2023 UK Green Business Awards as well as Best Electric Charging Point Provider by Business Motoring.
