Selecting your vehicle in the Ohme app lets us know which EV is charging, as well as the battery size, range, and maximum speed at which your EV can charge. All of this information is important to make sure that Ohme charges your EV correctly. To ensure your charge session is accurately calculated, it\u2019s important to select the correct car before you plug in. Below is a short step-by-step for how to switch cars in the Ohme app. If you\u2019re connecting your car account, there will be a few extra steps to complete.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Switching between car profiles with Multi-Car<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When charging multiple cars on the same account, it’s important to ensure you have the correct car profile selected before you plug in to charge. If you have multiple EVs to charge, with App Version 2.4.0 or later, you can save vehicle profiles to easily switch between them.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

    Before plugin, tap the vehicle selector in the top left-hand corner of the screen.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n

    Creating a custom car<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

    If your EV brand or model isn\u2019t available as a pre-set option, you can create a custom car profile. By setting the battery size, charge rate, and maximum range, you can customise the profile to match the specifications of your vehicle. This allows for a more personalised and accurate representation of your car\u2019s capabilities and charging needs.     To start, click the Account button along the bottom of the Ohme app and tap My EV, or click the existing vehicle profile listed at the top left corner of the Charging page.<\/p>\n

    Then tap Switch EV.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

    Step 3<\/h3>\n

    You\u2019ll then need to add the specifications of your car. If you\u2019re unsure, refer to your paperwork from your original purchase or the car handbook. We will require the following information:<\/p>\n

    Brand and car model name (e.g. Fiat 500e)<\/p>\n

      This will be shown as the title of the car on the My EV page.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

      The battery size in kWh (e.g. 42kWh)<\/p>\n

      • \n

        The battery size is important for Ohme to know how much time it will need to schedule to fill the battery.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

        The maximum AC charging speed in kW (e.g. 7.68kW)<\/p>\n

          The rate of charge is also important to help Ohme understand how much time it will need to schedule to fill the battery.<\/p>\n<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

          The maximum range\u00a0 (e.g. 199 miles)<\/p>\n

          • The range will help to provide an estimation of how much range the car may achieve by the end of the session. Note: Only the car itself (or car app) will be able to show the true range the car can achieve.<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n

            Once you have added all of the specifications, tap Confirm to finish.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

            Edit tech specs<\/h3>\n

            You can edit your custom car specifications from the My EV page by tapping \u2018Edit tech specs\u2019.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

            Pairing your Ohme account with your car app account<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

            Some car manufacturers provide an API (Application Programming Interface) which allows access to information about your car via your manufacturer\u2019s app. Providing your login details in the Ohme app allows Ohme to see your car\u2019s current state of charge, which is then used to work out how much charge you need. This feature is currently available for a limited number of brands. If your brand isn\u2019t listed, Ohme won\u2019t be able to see your car\u2019s state of charge. API support is currently available for the following brands:<\/p>\n\n\n\n

            When you choose your EV in the Ohme app, for every brand supported you\u2019ll be invited to \u2018Pair your EV\u2019. Tap continue and read through the introduction screens until you reach the login screen and enter your car app account details.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

            My EV page<\/h3>\n

            Once you have logged in, you\u2019ll be able to see the battery level of your car shown on the My EV page.<\/p>\n

            If for any reason you would like to stop Ohme from being able to retrieve the battery level inside the vehicle you can choose to \u2018Unpair your EV\u2019. This will mean Ohme assumes the battery is 0% each time you plug in.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n

            You’ll see the battery level front and centre when a session is in progress. Ohme will check in with your car at regular intervals throughout the session to ensure the target is reached.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n
