There is no switch for this in the app. It works automatically in the background.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>This is useful as many cars use small amounts of energy even when not being driven. For example, features that keep the car on standby, such as sensors or monitoring systems, can slowly reduce the battery level. Multi-day charging helps by automatically topping your car back up to your chosen target, so the battery does not run down while the car is parked.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-how-does-it-work\">How does it work?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>When you plug in your car, Ohme creates a smart charging schedule using your account settings:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Your price cap (if one is set)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your chosen target<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Your ready-by time<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Ohme then starts a charging session to make sure your target is reached by your ready-by time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-what-happens-next\">What happens next?<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>After the scheduled session ends, Ohme will wait for three hours. If your car is still plugged in after this time, a new session will automatically begin. This session is created using the same account settings as before, so there is no need for you to update anything in the app.<br>This process repeats each day while your car remains plugged in.<\/p>\n\n\n<div id=\"\" class=\"blockWrapper top-smaller bottom-smaller   \">\n\n<div class=\"alert-wrapper\">\n    <div class=\"alert none\">\n        <img decoding=\"async\" class=\"icon\" src=\"https:\/\/ohme-ev.com\/ie\/wp-content\/themes\/ohme-energy\/shared\/images\/warning.svg\" \/>\n        <p>u003c!u002du002d wp:heading {u0022levelu0022:3} u002du002du003ernu003ch3 id=u0022h-things-to-keep-in-mindu0022 class=u0022wp-block-headingu0022u003eThings to keep in mindu003c\/h3u003ernu003culu003ern tu003cliu003eThere is always a three hour pause before a new session starts. Once the initial session has ended, a countdown timer will be shown on the Charging screen.u003c\/liu003ern tu003cliu003eMulti-day charging is designed to keep your car topped up without you needing to re-plug or change settings.u003c\/liu003ern tu003cliu003eFor non-API cars, the charge level shown in the app will look like it has reset when a new session begins. This is because Ohme records the energy delivered from the start of each new session rather than the total across all sessions.u003c\/liu003ernu003c\/ulu003e<\/p>\n    <\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n<\/div>\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-example-scenario-1-app-connected-car-api\">Example scenario 1 \u2013 App connected car (API)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>Ohme is able to retieve your battery level so you set a target of 80%.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On Day 1 your car is at 20%. Ohme charges it to 80%.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Overnight, the car\u2019s standby systems use 5% of the battery, leaving you at 75% the next morning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ohme checks your car\u2019s state of charge and creates a new schedule to add just 5%, topping you back up to 80%.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>This repeats each day until you unplug your car.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-example-scenario-2-non-api\">Example scenario 2 \u2013 (Non-API)<\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p>As Ohme is not able to retrieve the battery level inside your car you set a top-up charge target of 50%, to add to the charge your car already has.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>On Day 1 your car is at 20%. Ohme adds 50%, bringing the battery to 70%.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Overnight, the car\u2019s standby systems use 5% of the battery, leaving you at 65% the next morning.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Ohme starts a new session and again applies the 50% top-up setting. However, because the car cannot take on more than 100%, it will only add 35%.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>In this case, you may see a message saying charging was \u201cinterrupted unexpectedly\u201d. This simply means the car was already full and could not accept the entire scheduled amount.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Multi-day charging ensures your car stays at your chosen charge level over several days. The sub-status will display a countdown timer &#8216;New session starting in&#8217;.rnrnYou can always choose to manually start a new session by tapping &#8216;Start a new session&#8217; at the bottom
